Xiaomi presented the first details about Mi Mix 3 a few days ago The cell phone, which until then stood out only by the sliding rear that prevents the notch on the screen, will have another differential: the support for 5G networks.

The information was disclosed on Twitter by Donovan Sung, product director of Xiaomi. According to him, tests of the company's smartphones with the 5G were successful and offered download speeds 10 times higher than 4G.

The executive also posted a real picture of a Mi Mix 3 using the 5G. The photo joins the one that was released last week by Xiaomi chairman Lin Bin. Both indicate that the device will have very reduced edges that allow to take advantage of much of the frontal area with the screen.

At first, the selfie camera is not visible. It is hidden in a sliding area so the screen does not need to display the notch and should work as in the video below:

If the video is correct, the opening of the rear area of the Mi Mix 3 will be manual. The solution is a bit simpler than the one used in Oppo Find X  that reveals the bar in a motorized way whenever the camera application is triggered.
Mi Mix 3 is due in October.

Race through 5G

The 5G is already becoming a reality in some cities around the world and has made manufacturers run to offer compatible phones. Motorola, for example, announced in August a Moto Snap capable of offering 5G access to Moto Z3.
According to the company, the accessory will be compatible with Verizon's network, due to be launched in 2018 in four American cities.
Meanwhile, Qualcomm has been working with some manufacturers to offer its 5G modem. Among the partners are brands such as Sony, Asus and LG. Samsung, on the other hand, announced its own modem a few days ago : the Exynos 5100.
